Heutzutage verläuft in unserer durch und durch erotisierten Welt die Trennungslinie nicht mehr zwischen Erlaubten und Verbotenem, sondern zwischen der Norm und der Abweichung. In diesem Sinne sind wir alle, wir Abendländer, sexuell Besessene; wir sind besessen von der allgegenwärtigen Verfügbarkeit des Eros. Patrick Gagne nun wagt sich in seinen Photographien an einem doppelten Spiel. Zum einen probt er den Aufstand gegen diese Form allgegenwärtig gelebter Erotik und doch huldigt er gleichzeitig der Lust und der sinnlichen Verführung auf seine poetische Weise. Das seine Kunst an diesem Spagat nicht zerbricht, zeigt, das sein künstlerisches Konzept, fußend auf viel photographischer Erfahrung und großem Einfühlungsvermögen, gleichermaßen durchdacht, wie anregend ist.

I have been a photographer most of my life, but only started working as an artist about a dozen years ago. My work has evolved, yet using the same themes of lace, fringe, lines and other props but especially lighting. Most of my work is meant to capture the beauty of the human form with various lighting and pose. Making you think you can see more than is shown is also one way to bring a sense of humor to the camera and combine eroticism that can be startling at times. I also like to recycle images, that is to say trying other images in my own style. My artistic passion is the artistic nude, with most of my work done in the studio. I am putting together a collection of sensual and elegant images of the gorgeous human body. |
